WAKO granted provisional recognition by IOC

                       

 

African Kickboxing Confederation is please to announced the during the International Olympic Committee’s Executive Board meeting held in Tokyo, Japan on 30 November 2018, provisional recognition was granted to the World Association of Kickboxing Organizations (WAKO) pursuant to Rule 25 of the Olympic Charter. This provisional recognition for a period up to three years reflects the WAKO’s embrace of the values of the Olympic Charter.
Emmanuel Essissma, President of African Kickboxing Confederation (WAKO Africa) and Executive member of National Olympic and Sport of Cameroun stated:
We received 2 days the new of massive achievement by Asian Kickboxing Confederation of inclusion of Kickboxing Sport in SEA Games 2019 Philippines http://wakoasia.com/?p=2243 ,which is considerate of huge “development of” our “sport” which is one of most important aims of IOC.
Mr. Essissma added: We have also confirmed the unity for the best interest of our sport by appointing Mrs. Francesca Falsoni as interim President after unexpected loss of WAKO President last month.
We congratulate all WAKO members around the globe and encourage them all to continue their work developing our sport in their respective countries.
